Summer is coming to a close so it’t time to put in your winter garden.

The folks at Fresh Roots are the experts that are putting on this work-shop.

Workshop March 13: Soil Testing

Soil Testing and Amending your Soil Workshop. – Very Hands On! March 13th

When: Saturday March 13 10:30 am
Where: MOBY Garden 1735 East 11th ( just 2 blocks from Broadway skytrain)
What: What is the PH of your soil? We will teach you how test your soil with items you have at home. You can also bring a soil sample we can test ( being 2 water proof containers and 2 handfuls of your soil) You will also learn how to test; drainage, soil type and the general health of your soil. So your soil is a bit too…? Learn how to balance your PH or what plants like the soil you have now.

Workshops are by donation. Pay what you can, we suggest $5.How good is your soil?

Workshop: March 6 Starting from Seed – the basics

    Seed Starting Workshop and Seed Exchange March 6th.

When: Saturday March 6 10:30 am
Where: MOBY Garden 1735 East 11th Vancouver( just 2 blocks from Broadway Skytrain)
What: Learn the basics on how to start from seed. What sort of containers to use, how to prep them; when to water and fertilize. How to prepare plants for transplant out side. How to make paper starting pots. You will get a chance to make a paper pot and plant some seeds to bring home ( bring a bag to carry your seeds and new pots)
Than… Seed exchange- bring your seeds and exchange them with other attendees. A great way to get a variety of seeds and learn how others did with those seeds.
