Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival – September 25, 2010

September 22, 2010 by Dana Lynch

One of Vancouver’s most unique community festivals is happening this Saturday, September 25: the annual Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival.

Taking place in East Vancouver, the FREE Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival is a celebration of renewal and environmental stewardship—Renfrew Ravine was once a garbage pit—linked to the important annual Chinese Moon Festival.

The Festival has four parts, all happening Saturday, September 25:

Created in 2003 by Vancouver artist Carmen Rosen, the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival is a lovely, unique Vancouver event that’s perfect for all ages. See video of the festival here.

Local Heroes Dinner 2010

The local heroes dinner has come and gone. What a beautiful day with neighbours meeting down the middle of the street sharing a meal.

So often we pass people on the street that could just live a few doors down for you. On June 5th 2010 we came together; shook hands and shared stories. Children played together that had never played together before. The sun was shining, are stomachs were full and we were with friends and neighbours… could there be a better day. I think not.

Please read the wonderful stores of our 2010 Local heroes. Two people that have made our neighbourhood a better place to live: Eileen Mosca and Matt Hern.
