FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people who are re-inventing our food system. FRESH features urban farmer and activist, Will Allen, the recipient of MacArthur’s 2008 Genius Award; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur, Joel Salatin, made famous by Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma; and supermarket owner, David Ball, challenging our Wal-Mart dominated economy.
In addition to the film, we will have food from Vij’s, Rocky Mountain Flatbread, Choices Markets, Terra Breads, and Seeds of Plenty; drinks from Farmstead Wines, Crannog Ales, Ethical Bean Coffee, and Dao Tea, speakers, information tables, and gift bags for the first 400 people who walk in the door! Join us at the Ridge from 7pm to 9:30pm. Sponsored by Festival Cinemas, A Fresh Event is a fundraiser for The World in a Garden and FarmFolkCityFolk’s “Get Local” project. Tickets are $27 each.

The first 200 people who buy tickets online are eligible to win 2 tickets to our 2011 Feast of Fields! Tickets are available at the Ridge Theatre (3131 Arbutus) or online at http://www.festivalcinemas.ca
